Product introduction
IDM-6520 gateway is a converter from PROFIBUS DP protocol to Modbus RTU / ASCII protocol, and the data exchange between Modbus RTU / ASCII protocol and PROFIBUS DP protocol. Its PROFIBUS DP is a slave interface, which can be connected to PROFIBUS DP master station device such as Siemens PLC, and can solve the data communication problem between serial port device of Modbus RTU / ASCII protocol and PROFIBUS DP master station. Devices with RS-485 interface and supporting Modbus RTU / ASCII protocol can be connected to the field PROFIBUS DP bus using IDM-6520 gateway.

Setting of slave station address (DP address)
The PROFIBUS DP interface of IDM-6520 is a slave interface. When using, the user needs to set the slave address through X1 and X16 dial switches.
X1 ：Low address switch.
X16：High address switch.
Slave address = (X16 * 16) + X1
If X1 switch is turned to 3 and x16 switch is turned to 0, it means that the address of the gateway in DP network is set to 0 * 16 + 3 = 3. If X1 switch is turned to 4 and x16 switch is turned to 1, it means that the address of the gateway in DP network is set to 1 * 16 + 4 = 20. The valid address range of PROFIBUS DP slave station is 1-125.
